Keywords: START, STOP, HELP

Text one of these words to your organization’s Scriblet number, on its own.

Text What it does
START Turns texts with Scriblet on
STOP Turns texts with Scriblet off
HELP Sends you a text with how to get help
  • Send the word on its own, as the whole text. “STOP” works. “Please stop adding Karen” is an ordinary message, not STOP.
  • Capitals don’t matter, and a full stop or exclamation mark on the end is fine. “Stop.” and “start!” both work.

Turns texts on, so Scriblet uses your updates and can text you replies and calendar alerts. You get a text back to confirm.

UNSTOP does the same thing. “Yes” doesn’t: Scriblet reads it as an answer to a question.

Turns texts off, both ways. Scriblet won’t act on anything you text it, and won’t text you anything, including replies and alerts. You get a text back to confirm.

STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END and QUIT do the same thing.

After STOP:

  • If you text Scriblet, it doesn’t use your message. It emails you to say so, if your organization has your email address, at most once a day.
  • Your weekly text alerts are paused, not deleted. They start again when you text START.
  • Email still works. Emailing updates, and alerts by email, aren’t affected.

To turn texts back on, text START, then send your update again.

STOP turns off all texts. To turn off just one calendar alert, use its name instead, like “deacons alerts off”. See Calendar alerts.

Sends you a text with how to get help. It doesn’t change anything. INFO does the same thing.

For help with your organization’s calendar or your place on its list, ask your administrator.
